Travel from airport to WDW without rental car?

Looking for some advice...

The last time we visited WDW ('96), we used Mears Transportation. I thought it was fine, but am wondering for our upcoming Oct trip if there is a better option. I really don't think we have a major need for a rental car (the only off-site activity we have planned is a single day trip to Universal), so I'd love some opinions on Mears, or other alternatives (i.e. town car services).

Whatever choice I make, I would need to plan something to get us to Universal and back as well.

Any thoughts/opinions/recommendations would be most appreciated.

Thanks!

We are going in November and don't rent a car either. We've always used Mears, but our last trip sort of turned me off. (Nothing they did specifically, just don't like being picked up hours before our flight and driving around WDW picking up other people to fill the BUS) Anyway, this trip I booked your ride. We have a day at Sea World planned also and already booked that too. Go to www.yourride.net or click on the rabbit logo yourride in the right hand margin. It costs $80 for roundtrip from the airport to hotel and back...print out the $5 off coupon. The Sea World trip costs $45...again, print out the $5 off coupon. It would be cheaper for us to go with Mears, just two of us, but I think we will like the personal service (can't wait to see our name on the board when we go down the escalator!) with yourride. :D

Thanks for the correction, CaliforniaDreaming. I just realized I typed in the wrong address!:D

We used Tiffany and were very impressed with the service we received.

We used them in Oct. 2000 on advice from these board and I have to say that they were excellent!

We also used Tiffany town car last November, service was great with "JR". Am planning on using them again this November, there are more of us (8), but I believe they have vans that can accommodate 10 at a time, price quoted last year was $100 for the van MaryAunt

We used Tiffany last fall and are using them again later this week!! Love the service.

We always prefer a rental. For the $20-$30 extra over the cost of a shuttle, it's worth it. As far as I'm concerned the convenience far outweighs any extra cost. WDW transport is great, but there is always a situation you never expect. One year my son became sick, and having a rental made the trip to the pharmacy less painful. How much would a one day trip to Universal cost, anyway? Plus, I just like to drive!
