The Flight Centre Expo is coming up in Feb. and I was wondering if anyone has grabbed bargain flights from one of these expos.

If so, how much of a discount from advertised prices?
Do you actually have to go to the expo to get the discount or can you just rock up to Flight Centre the day after and get the same deal?

Any thoughts? :)

We went to the American expo in Aug last year. Flights were about $100-$250 cheaper per adult, depending on airline.

You don't have to make the trek into the expo, going to your local flight centre will get you the same result, just go EARLY. We went into the city, mid morning and found that our preferred dates (+/- 3 days either side) were unavailable. Chatting with the agent, she indicated that they start creating a list about 2 weeks before and once handed the fares, they start booking from that list. I'm not sure of the exact time they receive the airfares but I think it is shortly before opening. Therefore, those in the first 2-3 (usually their preferred or regular clients) on the "list" will get the best options. Once open, they must service the walk in traffic before their "list". If you are not going to be in the top 2-3, I'd suggest trying a walk in. Better still, you can make an appt.

Good luck!

I don't think you have to go to the expo to get the deals. We did and got a decent price on our flights from the USA expo last year. We have to have them paid within 48 hours to secure them though.

Thanks. I wasn't keen on driving into the city as this is my only purpose on going. Everything else I will do myself. :)
