Travel day character breakfast

Hello,
I'm wanting to do a character breakfast on our departure day (no park passes that day). We are staying at HoJo's and I'm thinking either Surf's Up at PPH or Goofy's Kitchen at DLH. It seems like the food is pretty comprable between the two, as are the characters. Grandson loves Mickey and Goofy. Can you advise on walk times for both places and if you prefer one over the other? Many thanks!

Mickey is only at PPH & I think Goofy is only at DLH. Walking from HOJO to Esplanade is 10-15 minutes, depending on the line at bag check. Then you'll have to walk thru downtown Disney to either hotel, prob another 10 min.

When we've done breakfast on our departure/non park day, while staying at the Fairfuekd next door to HOJO, we loaded up our car & drove to the hotel for our meal. I think it's validated? If not, I think you can park in downtown Disney for 2 hours for free.

Yes, they validate parking. I would suggest Surfs Up! The kids get to dance with the characters and it is tons of fun.

Thank you for your replies. We arent driving so we'll walk to the restaurant. We have a few hours free time before heading home via Amtrak. I thought a character breakfast would be fun.

I love to end my trips with a character breakfast! Between those two I generally prefer Surf's Up because that's the only breakfast with Mickey and I also think the food is better (and has a very slight Polynesian flair) but you can't go wrong at either place.

The only way I'd do Goofy's again is for lunch or dinner. But since you need it to be breakfast, go the meal with MICKEY!!!

we are doing the same thing! we have 8am ressies for surf's up on our departure day (not going into the parks that day). we are staying at gch so hopefully, it's a quick walk over to pph!

We did the same thing last week at PCH grill. We had a 9 30 reservation. Walk was out 20 mins. Food was fantastic and the characters were great. Back check from downtown Disney side was much longer coming back so factor that in if you have a time you need to be back

good to know! thank you! we fly out later in the afternoon, but wanted to fit in some pool time at gch. we'll likely have to check our bags into bell service and then use the facilities in the pool restroom area to get showered up and changed.

If you're just going GCH and walking to PPH for Surf's Up you won't have to go through security or bag check in either direction so you should be fine.
