.....A good service I am pleased to report.

Over the past couple of days there have been some reports about the poor service that TCD had offered to people trying to make bookings with prices,etc.

I added to these messages that I had also had some trouble with my 2004 booking with TCD, and in hingsight having second thoughts (albeit when I booked earlier in the year there were glowing reports on this discussion boards) BUT.....

TCD MUST be keen to uphold their customer service and provide a good service, as this evening received a call from Steve Boardman - Marketing Director. Following reading my message, and those of other Disboards members, he traced my booking (not sure how) and wanted to rectify my outstanding issues.

To their credit he offered to cancel my holiday with no penalty but I quickly declined as my family are all looking forward to Sunshine First and 2 weeks of WDW/Universal. Steve promised to sort out my problem and will confirm everything in writing, which I hope will arrive soon.

Therefore very happy that everything is resolved and now looking forward to our family holiday and can only praise them for sorting everything out. OK they didnt reply to my letters BUT now resolved.

As the Lost Boy stated on another discussion....."I might add TCD are not the only ones who suffer from this, the same finger could also be pointed to Virgin upon occasions". TCD are not the only company to make mistakes and at least doing something about it. Some bigger companies just dont bother.

Now I have reassurance that I was right in booking with TCD - and despite the early hiccups we have a super holiday to look forward to...

I hope more people have some POSITIVE feedback on TCD, who are actively listening to their customers, reading these boards and taking action.
Please add your Positive comments of Travel City - I am sure I'm not the only one!

Well if Steve wanted to sort out my situation I'd stop saying nasty things about his company, but until that happens (unlikely in my opinion) I'll continue to share my experience.

Glad you've got good service from TCD (even if it is after a bit of a hiccup), and a few brownie points to TCD for acting on your info. Come on Steve, where are you...

Well let's hope that if they are reading these boards that they do more than just READ , and sort out Rob and every one elses problems out :mad:

We booked with them in March and have had no problems up to now. The only thing that concerned me was flying with EXCEL airways who I know now only did european destinations. According to TCD they have just started going to USA.:confused:

We have been with TCD twice before in '97 + '99 but the aircraft then were dreadful and also the stewards were just as bad, so now they have these jumbo's I'm hoping it will be ok.

On the few occasions when the s*** has hit the fan virgin has always surpassed themselves and sorted it.

I have tried twice to book with TCD and twice I have thought what a annoying, two faced company.

Virgin all the way for me.
 

I have booked with TCD for next year and i have nothing but praise for the customer service we have recieved so far. The person who booked our holiday was very helpful but not pushy like you get in a high street travel agents . I hope everyone who is having problems with TCD gets them sorted and enjoy's their holiday.
 
Great News, CJ, It's nice to know that they have dones something about all the problems.

We were very interested in booking with them and most of all, interested in their 'Sunshine First' service, but after emailing and ringing them at least 3 times (and speaking to some rather unhelpful staff) for a brochure I couldn't be bothered with the hassle anynmore.

I agree - with never had any problems with service when booking flights or a package through virgin. The one time that we did have a problem it was very rapidly resolved and we were given a free upgrade and vouchers for booking again. Excellent customer service and IMO, a brilliant company.

Please to say that Steve Boardman has also got in touch with me. I'll let you know the outcome of my discussions with him.

Just to let you all know following the call from the Marketing Director of TCD, as promised, I received the correct revised booking schedule the next day!

I'm impressed and now very much looking forward to travelling on Sunshine First and staying at WDW next year
