This was sent to me today by a CM that works for Disney.

Travel Channel viewers throughout the United States are about to hear Disney's best-kept secret from those who know it best.

A new hour-long feature, titled Season of Disney: Disney's Best Kept Secret, will spotlight Disney Vacation Club, the innovative vacation-ownership program that helps families enjoy savings on decades of future vacations to Disney destinations and more than 500 other hotspots across the globe. The show is scheduled to premiere on September 18 at 8 p.m. ET and will re-air at midnight.

The historic broadcast will mark the first national television show focused exclusively on Disney Vacation Club.

The show stars five families (representing both Disney Vacation Club Members and interested Guests), who share their personal stories and perspectives about the breadth of experiences, accommodations and benefits of Membership.

I was wondering when that was airing. I remember reading somewhere about the search for the dvc families.

Supose it's going to be one long commercial but I'll set the dvr anyway, just to ge my Disney fix.

Looks like sales are down and they are going to air the DVC DVD that gets mailed out.

I was watching the Travel Channel for a couple of hours yesterday and probably saw the commercial for the show at least five times. The ad also says they are giving away a Disney vacation for the next three years.

I have seen that advertised on our Comcast Viewers guide as a "On Demand" feature but it will not load for me:confused3
Got aggrevated enough to call out service repair for the receiver, ONLY to be informed that it was a "future event" and it was only being advertised early...:thumbsup2

I wonder if they will mention current/new DVC resorts on sale - (BLT, Treehouse Villas, Hawaii, Grand Californian).

To the Previous Poster who talked about Comcast On Demand - there are actaully Disney features On Demand through 10/9. Go to On Demand - Searchlight - Travel & Leisure and you will see them all, including a cooking segment at California Grill. YUM YUM!

You have posted in several threads thats sales are down. Is there a basis for this or pure speculation?

Insider information from DVD, lowering purchase minimums to 100 points, additional incentives, ROFR time reduced to a week in some cases.

Did not know the DVD they send out stated how their sales are going:rotfl: Bus drivers! They do know all

The rest is pure speculation. Just because they are making changes in a tough economy does not mean sales are down. It is smart business. As a shareholder, I appreciate that Disney is doing well in general.

Maybe it is my inner accountant coming out, but in the absence of cold hard facts, I will wait until the annual report.

I am not looking to be disagreeable, but you have posted numerous times that sales are down, and thought you might have some numbers.

What did your source say about the Travel Channel show?

It is because of the show that DVD went ahead with the BLT announcement. According to my source, if the show had not been scheduled several weeks ago, DVD would have again postponed the BLT announcement due to current economic conditions. I was told that if sales for BLT don't meet expectations, DVD will be quick to offer additional incentives.

All we can do is wait and see. My bus driver is seldom wrong.

No... I believe this is something recently produced by TC. I remember earlier in the year they told starbox that her family would be one of the families to be interviewed. Unfortunately, they decided (I think) they had too many families and uninvited them.

This show has been in the works for sometime. Well before the current economic downturn. This show really doesn't have anything to do with slowing sales (if there really are any). It's part of Disney marketing their product; nothing more, or nothing less. Disney is making a very aggressive move with DVC. It's a cash cow for them and they are going to do what they can to get the word out about it; plain and simple!

Since it's part of the "Season of Disney," I hope it'll be offered on iTunes along side the rest. I really appreciate being able to watch those any time, any where. :goodvibes
