Travel and Leisure magazine's new issue contained their annual list of the 500 best hotels in the world. There's a ton of Concierge Collection resorts on it, such as the Grand Hotel in Mackinac, the American Club in Kohler, Kapalua Bay, and many others. It's a pretty good resource if you're shopping around for a high end place to stay. They tell you what are the best rooms at each resort, for example.

At WDW, they don't list any actual DVC resorts, but the do have Grand Floridian (79.34 points on their 100-point scale), Yacht Club (78.15), Wilderness Lodge (77.91), Boardwalk Inn (76.33) and Polynesian (75.28).

They also list Vero Beach, with a score of 81.01. And Palmetto Dunes in Hilton Head gets a really high score of 84.14, good for 24th in the country. From the way their description is worded, it sounds like the rating covers all of Palmetto Dunes and Shelter Cove Harbor.

Thanks for the info! We do have a lot of quality resorts in the Concierge Collection.

I love Vero but I'm surprised they did so well on this report, even beating out the GF. Usually the lack of things like a beauty salon, spa, etc. count against a resort in these types of listings. I think it's the location and service that really helped boost it up the rankings. Good for the Vero Beach staff!

I did a little fiddling around with filtering the list, and it looks like Palmetto Dunes is tied with the Four Seasons on the Big Island for best resort in the U.S. for families. That's really high praise! Plus Hilton Head is a fraction of the price and a whole lot more accessible than the Four Seasons property.

next year both the Ritz-Carlton and Gaylord will be up and going - so I would expect one of them to take first honor in Orlando - since neither one is on this survery I take it they both opened to late - or that this magazine only takes votes from a resort that has been opened longer.

I have not heard anything bad about the Ritz-Carlton - if anything it will probably take business away from the GF.
