Does anyone know of a travel agency that will make campsite reservations at the Fort? The agency I've used in the past for room (and dining, shows, etc.) doesn't do the campsites, which means they won't make any other ressies either.

Also, what do y'all think is the quietest loop? Prob going with premium, but might be convinced to do preferred (do I have that backwards?).

The quietest loop for trailers and RVs, IMO, are the two Full loops in the back, 1800 and 1900. See them here on the Fort map:

There are 4 types of site at the Fort (in order of expense low-to-high): Partial/Tent, Full, Preferred, and Premium. Fulls are the same as Preferred sites in terms of size and amenities, the only difference being their location within the Fort. Full are back in a quiet area away from the main roads and busses (1600-1900 loops). Preferred are up close to the beach and Trails End area (100-300). Premiums are extra wide, extra long, have a square picnic table and covered grill (if that matters) and are most expensive (400-1400 loops). Tent loops are 1500 and 2000 and cabins are 2100-2900.

So whatever you want, Mom. Say "hey" to Fred and Ethel for me. My recollection is that in Preferred loops, 300 is the pet loop. In the Fulls, they are all pet loops, Premiums not so sure. If I am wrong someone will correct me. When you reserve whatever type of site you decide on, you will want to reserve a pet friendly site/loop if Fred & Ethel tag along.

Is there a reason you don't want to just make your own reservation online?

You can book your own campsite, pay a deposit of one night and would be able to cancel up to 5 days before (I think it's 5 days.)

If you turn it into a package, your cancellation and payments are different - payment in full is due much sooner and definitely before you arrive.

Thx Bama Ed! F&E will be staying at their grandparents', aka Blue Hair Villas. That makes it more of a vacay for us.

I will be checking out the loops as the 499 day mark gets closer.

I am probably just spoiled to using a TA. They have made my life easier in the past. Plus, I'm not making arrangements for a big group like I have in the past, so that'll simplify things.

My TA books my campsite. She even looks out to find me the extra days I need. I am not sure about the dreams unlimited agents, but I would think they could do it. If not pm me and I will send you my TA info.

I use Teresa Echols at Dreams Unlimited. In fact she and Kathy Werling (another TA at Dreams) came out and spent the day with me and DW at the Fort. We cooked out and looped, they are very good. So, yes Dreams travel planners can book your site or cabins.

I agree that the 1800 loop seems pretty serene and with nice canal paths to walk the pups. Maybe when you bring them along on the next trip. 300 is a convenient loop; it is a pet loop if you start missing F and E; some of the sites on 300 are fairly challenging for big units to access.

Thx, everyone! And Richard, I refer to them as "F and E" all the time! Unless I refer to them as the "daminals ", my DH's name for them.
