Posted this on the budget board earlier, figured it really belonged here...

Our travel agent sent us an e-mail that she was able to re-book our trip from June 26- July 4 with the new 4/3 deal. We saved over $1,100!

Anyone who has booked with a travel agent may want to contact them ASAP. It seems that they are able to do the new 4/3 deal even though it isn't "official" until Monday.

I could be wrong, but the deal was originally good through June 27, which is why yours is all set. It's been said that if your check in date falls before the 27th, you can get the package rate.

This is correct. I had checked with someone a while ago that was wondering if they could check in on 6/27 and get the deal; they could. It appears your TA didn't do it correctly the first time.

Well, then Disney did not know how to do it themselves, because when I tried for 6/24-7/1, I came up with a ginormous amount.

Not all CMs are created equal. But, there are many, many people on here who did it. Just checked again online and it is (still) possible.

Wow! This is rather harsh. Perhaps the OP's trip was booked before the deal was announced. Sheesh!!! :sad2:

Harsh? Wow. You are reading something into that more than what is meant. I was simply confirming what the pp above me thought to be true.

And I'm sorry if the TA didn't get it right. I run into more less-than-stellar TAs than good TAs. I have a feeling the OP didn't use a Disney specialist. Even if the trip was booked before the deal was announced, it was announced last Novemeber--THREE months ago. Offers are based on availability. Yes, TAs are busy; they have more than one client. But to take three months to get around to checking it out is just plain lazy.

I am not being mean to the OP; I feel bad for the OP. What if the TA never got around to things? The OP would have been out a lot of money. I hope others that are lurking don't encounter the same thing the OP did, and if so, they correct it. That's harsh? :confused3

I didn't mean you were harsh to the OP, I meant it was harsh to assume the TA dropped the ball on this one. You're right, it was around since November, and I would have jumped on it for a client, not every TA is as engrossed in Disney as some of us are.

I priced out the vacation for that same time frame awhile back. I was not given the entire benefit of the 4/3 deal since I started my travel on the 26th of June. I did a quote for 4 nights through Disney's website and then did another one through the 4/3 link. I did not get the same price. My 7 night deal using the 4/3 link was higher than if I just typed in 4 days.

So I think it is possible that the OP did not get the benefit of the 4/3 deal because the travel extended into the other dates not originally covered.

I also recently rebooked using the 4/3 deal, and my original dates were very similar-6/26-6/30. I don't think the offer had been announced yet when I booked, then I just figured my travel dates were beyond the original offer dates. I decided to check this morning to see if I could rebook and get the 4/3 deal. I'm glad I checked because not only did I get the deal, but my new itinerary, 6/26-7/3 priced out lower than my original for the same room category (Poly LVC):cool1: This was a nice surprise for me:thumbsup2
