OK I admit it now. I laughed at Delswife's experience with the tree attaching her. Is this why this happened?

As if I am not traumatized by the holiday season to begin with our tree has to fall over. It fell on top of Marlee Anne dd#3. Michala dd#2 was sitting close enough to end up under it but thankfully she did not. Marlee Anne is fine. Strange thing is the only ornaments that broke were some of Mary Elizabeth's, dd#1. Her Egleston Festival of Trees ornament from 1993. Also her Prince Charming and Cinderella ornament from Disney broke. It's plastic and Cinderella's head broke off. I haven't check the ornaments that are still on the tree.

We couldn't find a box of really old ornaments. The box had ornaments when I was little and my mama and daddy's very first ornaments when they were married. I was so upset that we couldn't find the box. Now I know the reason. If they were on the tree that would have all been shattered because they were those real old thin glass balls. I am just thankful it didn't hurt the girls.

Sorry for laughing at you Delswife!

That should have read tree attacking her. You get the point!

It sure seemed like the tree was trying to attach itself to me.

Thank goodness Marlee Anne is okay. I bet she wasn't happy about it though! The insides aren't as pretty as the outsides.

I'm sorry to hear your DD Mary Elizabeth's ornimate broke.:( That really stinks.

Mine is still in the attic! Maybe yours want to join it.
;)

I think it should be in the attic with yours. I bet they would be battling it out with each other though. LOL!!!

After I got the tree off Marlee Anne and realized she was OK. I lost it! I cried and cried. I had my hand up to my mouth and said oh my gosh (my signature phrase). Now everytime she sees the tree, she won't get to close to it, she puts her hand up to her mouth and say oh my gosh.

bad tree, bad tree, you need a time out, an extended one maybe 355 days worth in a dark place where the temps flucuate ... the attic.

It could be a pen pal to Delswife's tree.

Kelli:

The playyard gate wasn't around the tree & for the umpteenth time I had to tell Rach (dd1 almost 4) to NOT touch the tree, she said, Mommy you better put the gate around it, I can't stop touching it! :teeth:

After I wiped the tears of laughter ::yes:: off my face I reinstalled the gate.

We have had a few comments from others re: the gate, but it sure makes my day easier that the girls can look @ the tree from a safe distance and not worry about them attacking the tree :hyper:

I will take it down when my dh's family comes over for Christmas. I will also check my Disney ornaments to see if they are plastic or ceramic.

I think Christmas trees should come with one of those silly warnings - like, "Never leave tree unattended for longer than 10 seconds.."

A few years back my DD & her DH's tree fell down every night for over a week.. It was like it was possessed.. After they went to bed and fell asleep they would awaken to this huge crash and the tree would be down again.. Never during the day - only at night..

It was the strangest thing..
