Just looked at the new menu for Trattoria al Forno and the description doesn't sound anything like the original. My DH loved the lasagna there and after tasting a bite of his meal last March I have to say that it really was delicious! We planned on eating there again in July but may cancel if his favorite dish has been changed from the original...he is a very picky eater and the ingredients do sound different (polenta).
If anyone has tried the new version after having had the original can you please post?

I don't see polenta in the MDE app...did you mean pancetta? That is listed.

Polenta is cooked corn meal (kinda like grits) used in place of pasta and wouldn't make sense in lasagna. Pancetta is basically Italian bacon, and I could see them using that.

The last time I ate there, it wasn't even called "Lasagna". It was "Candele" and made with tubular pasta, not the familiar flat Lasagna pasta as we're used to here in the US. As I recall, the original Candele version had sausage in it. I don't recall it having pancetta (Italian bacon) in it.

Oops...I meant pancetta!
I seem to remember either gr beef or sausage in their lasagna not braised beef and pancetta.
I had the tubular pasta (with ricotta) along with the giant meatball dish for my dinner in March. It was good but we were both interested in getting the lasagna which my DH raved about.

Now that it's been over three weeks since I last posted...has anyone who has eaten the original lasagna at Trattoria tried it recently?
If so is it different now?
