trasnportation from WLV to Ft Wilderness

I am going in August and it looks like some family members will be joining us! We only have enough points for a studio so we won't all be staying together. In doing some reserach we found with the roon only discount they can get a Ft wilderness cabin for a really good price at the end of August. I'm just wondering how hard this would be going back and forth from Wilderness lodge? I saw on allears that there are boats that go between them. Any one have any experience with how often these run? And can you walk from one to the other?

There is a path between VWL and FW. It's a 20 minute walk or so.
Boats are about every 15-20 minutes.

As well as good dining options, so you may want to join at either resort on any given night.
