Trash and Towel Question?

Okay, since we have now sent in the paper I will probably have a whole different set of questions to ask. I wish the search engine was working, I am sure some these questions I wouldn't have to bother anyone with.

If I understand this right, if I stay eight nights I will get a full cleaning on day four and a trash and towel on day eight. My question is when do they start counting? Is day one your check in day or the following day?

Also, I remember reading somewhere about asking for a different day, like if I am staying only eight nights can I request the trash and towel be on day seven? Thanks.

Yes, counting the days start on check-in. However, if Day Eight is your checkout day you wouldn't "qualify" for a full cleaning on day 4. I have heard of people requesting and being granted shifts in the days of their cleanings. I think they usually call Housekeeping directly after arrival to set it up.
