Transporting Mickey Fan Programs

As I'm leaving in a week for Disney it just dawned on me that bringing the Mickey Fan Programs down to Florida may be tricky.
We will be flying, (West Jet) and I had thought about placing them in my carry-on because I'm sure they will get creased or the bows will become limp if they are in my checked luggage. Now I'm worried about the wooden sticks and security not alowing them on board because as we know, they could be used as weapons
I would call and ask about them, but someone on the phone could say it's fine, but when we get to the airport next week whoever is working security could have a different opinion.
How did any of you get them to Disney? Or does any creative person have any ideas?

Ship them to your resort. I know you only have a week or so left but you can FedEx them to where you are staying. I'm not sure about the airline allowing you to take them on the plane.

I thought about that, but even in bubble wrap envelopes I thought they may get bent travelling through so many FedX depos.
Has anyone brought them as carry on?
