I am dabbling with the idea of trying out Vero Beach. I would fly into Orlando but I am unsure of the transportation to get there.

I would prefer not to rent a car, so does anyone who normally travels have any ideas on how to get to the Vero Beach resort without paying an arm and a leg for a car service.

I have seen that happy limo would charge $412 round trip.

Thanks

You really need a car at VB to get to the grocery store or go out to dinner. Shutters is nice but eating there more than twice is more than I could take.

We rented a full size car for a week at Easter and with taxes it was about $330.

VB is a beautiful resort, but kind of in the middle of nowhere. You really need a car there.

I agree with my friends, but are you flying into Orlando because you will be staying at the World? There are other airports closer to VB. I believe I recall some sort of transportation (not Disney) to and from Melbourne (could have been a dream though). Of course the flight might be more, but worth checking into.

Thanks everyone. At about $400 round trip it definatly would be more cost effective to rent a car. I just kind of didn't want to have to deal with having a car, but sometimes it's a small price to pay ;)

You absolutely need a car. No question. Not only to get there, get food, sand toys, etc, but there are other great things to do in the area---Sebastian inlet (saw manatee there), 'jungle' cruises, kayak rentals and more. It's an easy 1 1/2 hr drive from Orlando. The car may be a bit pricey but well worth it.
