Transportation to the parks from DVC resorts

I have several questions about transportation for each of the DVC resorts. I'm trying to decide where to stay for our first DVC trip. We've been staying at the Contemporary, mainly because of the walkway to the MK. We also enjoy the fact that although we share the bus with the Poly and (sometimes)GF, you are the first to be picked up and dropped off.

Saratoga - really have no options you have to bus to the parks, but you don't share the bus with any other resort. I've read some complaints about the buses being too slow. How many bus stops are there at SSR? Does the bus to the MK seem like it takes forever?

OKW - I assume OKW is the same as SSR. - Only buses, no other resorts.

BCV/BWV -There isn't a bus to MGM or Epcot is there? Who do you share the bus/boat with? In what order do you get picked up, dropped off?

VWL - Do you share all transportation with Fort Wilderness? What order is the pick up, drop off?

Is there a DVC resort you refuse to stay at because of transportation?

Any other thoughts or experiences on transportation would be appreciated.

Would never refuse a resort because of transportation but do prefer to avoid a bus when possible (and also would never drive). Therefore BWV/BCV are our favorites (2 parks without needing a bus-technically 3 since monorail goes to MK) and VWL next (one without a bus-other than monorail to EPCOT from say the CR).

We have never had any issues with the buses at OKW, and often have found them to be faster than driving to the parking lot and doing all that hassle. The only route that can be a bit slow from OKW is the bus to AK, since it usually stops at Blizzard Beach on the way.

We were at SSR in Aug of 2004 & July 2005. Both times we took the buses to all parks and never had any problems at all. This past July there were 4 stops with in SSR. The buses were never crowed and we never waited more than 15 minutes. I would say 10 minutes was the average. We have a trip planned for the end of March and we are not renting a car for the first time ever. I'm not anticipating any problems with the transportation.

We were at OKW and SSR last SEpt/Oct and never had any bus problems either.
I guess I have just reached that non-commando stage so completely now after 8 years of DVC trips that a few minutes here or there waiting for a bus doesn't make a big difference in the grand scheme of life or a trip to WDW. We were in congress Park at SSR and could watch the bus stop from our room and it seemed like there was some sort of regular order when several buses would come and then it would be a wait for the next group so planned accordingly. People watching at the bus stops or on the buses can be almost as entertaining as some of the rides and shows. The grandson thinks the buses are a ride. The worst bus scenario we ever had was at BCV and BW waiting for the MK buses in the morning but hopefully that has been fixed now. We haven't stayed there in several years so have no first hand knowledge about that. Whatever you decide enjoy your trip..

I think the buses are part of the majic of DISNEY.

VWL has a direct bus to MK. There is a boat to MK as well and it shares with FW. I believe it goes MK->FW->WL in the morning and MK->WL->FW in the afternoon but someone else will have to confirm that. There is a boat to CR as well but I haven't used it.

WL shares with FW for Studios and Epcot and GF for Animal Kingdom and Downtown Disney. WL is always the first stop.

We were at SSR 2 weeks ago, ended up taking 20 bus rides over the week long stay - I'm anal, so I checked my watch everytime to "keep score", 16 times less than 5 minutes, 2 times 5-10 minutes, 1 time 10-15 minutes and 1 time for 25 minutes.

all in all pretty darn good - I was expecting to avg. about 15 minutes, obviously Disney blew that one away....now the next time we go it'll probably be 15 minutes from BCV and we'll be "remembering the good old days at SSR"!!
