Transportation to Religious Services?

In light of the apparent end to religious services at the Polynesian, does anyone know of plans for Disney or, more likely, someone else (Yourride, anyone??) to offer transportation to places like Mary Queen of the Universe on Sundays? Taxi is always an option, of course, but the cost of "private" transportation might be unnecessary if there were, say, vans organized to take groups of folks from a common point in WDW (say, the Poly) to church and back.

This sounds like an organizational nightmare on one level, but given the high attendance at the Poly's services, I'd think there's a market here to be tapped.

The only company I could see offering shuttle type service would be perhaps Mears running a shuttle or two from the TTC. But the problem is that from Sunday to Sunday they would never know how many would be going. I also bet that now that the services are no longer on property, over half of the people who would have attended before will just not go, and another large percentage will have their own car and just drive themselves there.

I can pretty well guarantee that WDW isn't going to start running a shuttle to the church. If for no other reason, if they do it for the Catholic church they are kind of obligated to shuttle people around to every religious house of worship that is requested, lest they be called discriminatory.

That does sound like a good business opportunity for someone! If you had a large van or a shuttle bus and took prepaid reservations, it could work. But I think Sunday is a busy day for airport transportation companies.

Have you thought of contacting the local church? When on vacation, I've called local pastors and they have sent a church van to pick up seniors from the retirement community to buzz by my hotel. Great company, and good security. Identifiable vans, so security is not a question. I always offer $5 or so for gas, or add it to the collection.
