Transportation to Port Canaveral for RCCL cruise

In August we are planning on taking a cruise on RCCL out of Port Canaveral. Now, DH cannot be in the Disney area without stopping in for a few days , so our plan was to stay at Disney first then cruise. We would take the ME to the hotel but it is getting to PC that I was wondering about. Can we take ME back to the airport and then check in with RCCL and handle our own luggage (yuck) or should we just get a limo to the port? Any suggestions would be great. TIA

We're renting a car in WDW then driving, returning the car the day the cruise starts and then renting one for the return to MCO. Much cheaper than any of the towncars or the shuttles.

Taking ME to the airport and then RCCL transportation from there would work. You could also try a town-car service from WDW to PC. Or, try renting a car at WDW and dropping it off at PC.

We just had Tiffany Town car pick us up at the resort and bring us to PC. I think R/T for 4 of us was $240.

I think going back to the airport via ME just to catch a RCCL transfer and handle your own bags is kind of a waste of time and energy. I'm sure the transfer cost of RCCL is not going to save you any more money than a towncar transfer or a rental car. I think I'd rent a car (Avis is DTD) the evening before or the morning of and just drive to port. It's cheaper than a town car, but not as much as hassle as doing the ME/RCCL transfer thing. Avis is close to port and has a free shuttle that drops you off at the terminal. A limo service beats going to the airport too if you really are dead set against renting a car but really think about that rental car. It's VERY easy to get to port.
