Please forgive me if this has already been asked before. We will be trying to get my two DD's ( 4 and 7) a spot on the Pirate cruise at the Grand Floridian on Monday Nov. 28. If that happens, I am worried about transportation to the GF from Old Key West. I know that we can take a bus to MK and then the monorail to the Ticket and Transportation Center and then I guess another monorail to the GF? How long do you think this will take and is this the best route to take? We could rent a taxi, but I don't know how expensive that will be. I wouldn't be so nervous if it wasn't so early in the morning, but I'm not sure how reliable busses and such are in the early AM. I don't even know if Magic Kingdom is open that early. Thanks for any advice! :flower: :flower:

I would definitely take a taxi. It will be fast and shouldn't cost you more than $10-$12 each way.

If you'd prefer to stay with WDW transport, take the bus to the MK then get on the resort monorail, which will stop at CR, TTC, Poly, and then the GF. There will be no need to change monorails. I would allow at least 45 minutes for this method, although you could get there in less time if you hit all the connections!

Good luck,

Bob

I'd budget a full hour to get there unless you drive. WDW transportation usually runs at least 1 hour before park openings. You didn't list what time the Pirate Cruise is, so I can't tell you if that's early enough.

I think the best way to get there would be to take a bus from OKW to MK, then hop on the boat from MK to GF. The boat, at most, would make a quick stop at Poly maybe. Otherwise it's express to GF. The monorail has to stop at CR, TTC then Poly before heading to GF. That could be time-consuming compared to the boat.

I agree. The resort launch for the GF & Poly is the way to go if you take the bus to MK. It goes to the GF first and then the Poly. Also it drops you a dock which is near the marina where the Pirate cruise leaves from so you don't have to go through the whole resort.

I would take a taxi myself. Disney transportation can be to unpredictable when you have to meet a firm reservation time. The boat will not wait for you if you are late.

I agree to allow plenty of time. My Nephew had his son booked for the Pirate Cruise and they were staying at All Stars and using bus service. Unfortunately, they didn't plan enough extra time and he missed the Cruise! So, I think you will be fine doing what other posters have told you in regard to transportation. If you have the time, why not try a dry run the day before. Even if you arrive early, you can get a cup of coffee to go and go wait for the boat down at the dock. My granddaughter did this cruise and loved it. She had a blast.
