Hello
My family & I (2 adults, 2 kids) are visiting DL first week in February, staying at GCH for 5 nights. On the day we check-out, we will go to Carlsbad for 2 days at Legoland, probably staying at the Sheraton for 2 nights. My question is about how to get there--should we rent a car, so that we can then get from Carlsbad to the airport when time to leave? if so, how do we get a rental car at GCH?
Or should we find some other way to to get to Legoland from Anaheim & then again from Sheraton to airport (SNA)? I'm guessing taxi would be very expensive, but is there some kind of shuttle service?
thanks much for any info!

We are doing a day trip to Legoland as part of our upcoming trip to Disney. We have chosen to rent a car.

1. It is much cheaper than the bus - $50 for the whole day (for a medium SUV - there are 5 of us) vs. $40 each for bus. You could get it for about $65 per person for the bus and entry to Legoland, but then you can't take advantage of the kids free coupons or other discounts.

2. Legoland is only open short hours - 10-5pm and we want to make the most out of our day. It seemed like the bus wouldn't get there till almost 11 based on the schedule they had listed.

Since you need a car to then get to the airport I would do that. There are lots of coupon codes out there that can be used for car rentals. Take a look at Mousesavers.com as a starting place. Plus with the rental car, you can then go to other places in the Carlsbad area.
