Sanford lists several pre-arranged transportation companies, none of which I'm familiar with.

What's been the experience of those traveling to / from Sanford / Disney? I have considered renting a car but we won't need it once we get to Disney and at $235.56 :scared1: well, I'd just as soon explore other options.

Thanks!

ETA: I know FL Tours sponsors this board - I've used them before and have nothing but positive comments about them - but I was thinking they only went to MCO. Is that right?

If they went to / from Sanford I'd just as soon use them but if they don't ..... ?

Forgot to add one other thing - there's 6 of us, 2 adults and 4 kids (under 18).

The companies listed on the Sanford site are good companies, but mostly small companies. The majoirity of them have served the Sanford Airport for years. They are permitted by that airport. Expect to pay between $180.00 and $210.00 round trip from Sanford with those companies. If you choose companies not listed than you will find they tend to charge more because they have to pay a fee of $20.00 to go and pick you up at that airport.

You could just rent a car for the day and return it to one of the resorts or Downtown Disney and take the bus back to your resort. Then rent for one more day to get back to the airport.

Because there are 6 of you, I think that you would have to have a passenger van rather than a towncar. A towncar holds 4 people.
Tiffany Towncar picks up in Sanford, the round trip cost is $200 for the van, a towncar is $180.00. Sunray Transportation is $180.00 (this cost is for a van or towncar). Fl Tours do pick up from Sanford, their cost for a van is $244.00.
So figure on $180-$200 plus tip.

A cab from Sanford will run from $100.00 to $117.00 depending on the resort you go to. They will run on meters which will rate out at $2.00 per mile.

WE have the same problem. What we did was rent a car for one day and drop it off at Swan-Dolphin, ten days latter we will pick up a car at Swan-Dolphin return to Sanford. First time for us flying into Sanford, going in May. I think we went with Dollar, rate was $50.00 a day...This was the cheapest transporation we found.... 45 days left until the big WDW trip.....

We did this with Alamo (they and National rent from the Dolphin). Easy peasy. We paid even less. This was late June 2005... the kids loved seeing the Swolphin since we stayed at BWV and just walked through one resort to get to the other!
