Transportation Suggestions from Beach Club to Contemporary?

On one of our non-park Saturdays in November my wife and I and her parents are reserved for a 9:30 breakfast at Homecomin', then planning to bus from Disney Springs to Caribbean Beach Resort so we can Skyliner to Beach Club via the EPCOT station, where we have reserved an 11:30 at Beaches & Cream for one of those kitchen sink sundaes. After that we want to do a Monorail bar crawl starting at the Contemporary going through to our 5:00 p.m. dinner reservation at Citricos at the Grand Floridian before our fireworks cruise out of there that night. This is all one big birthday event for my wife and I want to have every detail planned.

What I am trying to figure out is what will be the best way for us to get from the Beach Club Resort to the Contemporary? What are the choices? We aren't really that pressed for time to do it and would love to figure out how to incorporate a boat on the way, but not if it added an hour to the trip. I would love to figure out something unique if I could. Thanks in advance for the help.

Keep in mind that thunderstorms will derail your plan - Skyliner might not run, boats might not run. So have a backup plan in mind. Could be bus from Disney Springs to Beach Club, then bus from Beach Club to MK and monorail from MK to Contemporary.

"...a 9:30 breakfast at Homecomin', then planning to bus from Disney Springs to Caribbean Beach Resort so we can Skyliner to Beach Club via the EPCOT station, where we have reserved an 11:30 at Beaches & Cream for one of those kitchen sink sundaes." This part worries me a little. Figure you are done with breakfast at 10:30am, then take bus to CBR. Anytime I have used a Disney Springs bus it takes a loooong time. Then you have to take skyliner to Epcot then walk to B&C. I think you need more time for that, but maybe you are younger than I am.

Sounds like an action-packed bday but I would allow for an Uber if things get tricky. Also I just saw that fireworks cruise. How old are you? I'm tired just reading. And you got the parents, too!

I tend to underplan my days because Disney transportation always takes longer than you expect and you always need to walk a few more miles than you expect.

I agree with this. There is no way you will finish breakfast in time to bus to CBR and Skyliner to BC. I would plan on a bus directly to BC with uber as a back-up. If you want to do the Skyliner, I would do it after BC and take it to DHS where you can get a bus to CR. Maybe just count the fireworks cruise as your boat ride?

You’re going to have very full stomachs! Homecomin‘ isn’t known for small portions and the moonshine cake is a needed item.

Lots of good ideas, but I think I may have it. It might be just under an hour but it seems like you are wanting a little adventure: Take an Uber to Settlement Trading Post and take the boat to the Contemporary. A lake less travelled. Rolling up to Contemporary- seeing it from a different perspective. Might be kinda fun and different.

But then they would need to take an internal bus to get to the boat dock and that's a lot of wasted time, since all of the internal routes will make at least 5 stops to get to the boat dock. If you are going to uber somewhere then just uber to WL and take the boat to CR from there. With that being said..... This day sounds VERY STRESSFUL with all of those transportation options. Disney transportation is not the best. Buses from DS to resorts in the morning are not very frequent so lets say you miss the CBR bus, which really I would take the RIV one, but anyways, you could easily be standing there for at least 30 minutes. Then you still have the bus ride to the resort, walk to the skyliner station, wait in line, then ride the skyliner and hope that it doesn't slow down and stop 100 times, like it usually does, then get off the sky liner, walk a decent distance to B&C. That's just not happening and why put that undo stress on yourself when it's supposed to be a happy day of celebration. I completely get your thought process but it's one of those things that sounds REALLY good in theory but the reality of it is not. Maybe hire a limo or towncar to get you from DS to BC and then BC to CR. That could still be really fun and save you a lot of stress.

Hmmm. I think they can get dropped off on wilderness road right by the trading post. I thought we did when going there. Have to look into that.
I think the posters are looking for an adventure given their itinerary so far. Also, sounds like they know what they are getting into with the transportation system too.

I think the various comments are helpful in that they give a broader picture of what's involved. I've been going to Disney for decades and I am still sometimes caught off-guard by their sometimes wacky internal transportation system.

If OP, wife and in-laws are the athletic type, I think their schedule is possible, if ambitious. They should have a Plan B at least.

Thank you so much for all the responses! I think our best bet will be Uber from Disney Springs to Boardwalk as that time window is tight, and then bus from Beach Club to Magic Kingdom for the short walk to Contemporary. Sounds like things are too tight for a boat trip or something more scenic. Anyways, the monorail bar crawl should be a fun experience. Thanks again!

Minnie Vans would drop you off right there at the Fort.

Do you have information on when Minnie Vans are starting back up? It is only a helpful suggestion if they are actually running again.

Well, since you introduce the Uber from DS to the BW, there is a boat that you could take from the BW dock across the lake to the YC/BC dock on your way to Beaches and Cream. Five minutes onboard the boat, and possibly a 15 minute wait for the boat itself, depending on timing. That boat comes from Epcot, heading to BW, YC/BC, Swan/Dolphin, and ends up at the Studios. When 4 boats are running, the wait time is 15 minutes or less; with 3 boats running, the wait time is 20 minutes or less. Worst case, you just miss the boat and walk around the lake instead.

I only mentioned it because Minnie Vans used to drop people off right near Hoop Dee Doo Review/Trails End/the stables/dock. It was the only way besides Internal bus at the camp grounds, so an Uber wouldn’t work. Minnie Vans are gone for now, and I don’t think they are returning soon, unless it turns into a Genie perk.
