We are thinking of going to the beach for a day. We are staying at GCV. What are the choices? Cab? Bus?

We have a rental car reserved for our week but are rethinking that due to the fact that at least three of our days we will stick to DLR do we really need it for the week or at all.

What tour company would you recommend (or to avoid) to go site seeing around LA for a day?

We were also thinking of maybe Universal? How long does it take to get there from DLR?

Thanks!!!!

This is a very alternative suggestion. Down Katella Ave. which is on the south side of DLR, to the east is the train station. You'd want to take a cab because it's a couple miles.

Now it's around about way to get to a beach, but thake line going south on the Metrolink it stops near a couple beaches at the southern part of greater LA. If you take it down to Oceanside which is the North part of San Diego, you can transfer onto the Coaster which has stops by several beaches. If you take it to Downtown Sand Diego the Zoo is a really quick cab ride away.
