Hey there folks. So we are doing a Guncles (gay uncles) Trip with our Niece and Nephew in 87 days. Last year my husband and I used Disney Cruise Line Bus both to and from the ship. This year we are planning on trying to be at the ship early morning on embark day. So my question is two points.

First, should we book a car service or just use Uber or Lyft to get to the ship?

Second is can we just order DCL Bus to Orlando Airport?

I am having trouble finding this information on the Disney website.

Thanks!

You can book a car service, but some (if not all) may tell you they aren’t allowed to enter the port until 11am, which negates your early arrival. DCL transfers from MCO will be the first passengers into the terminal. Or you can rent a car to drive yourselves. Uber or Lyft May or may not be available for that long a drive.

You can book post-cruise DCL transfers by calling. Or have your TA call if you used one.

Enjoy your cruise!

You didn't mention where you are staying the night before the cruise. We will be staying at the Hyatt in the airport so we can catch the earliest bus to the port.

You can book a the Disney transfer up until 4 days before your cruise departs. It is $35 each way per person. The buses leave from Orlando MCO Airport or from the Disneyworld resorts.

You can also book a transfer from the port to the airport/hotel as well, and that's $35 a person.

If you go with a private shuttle/limo they won't pick you up from an Orlando hotel before 10AM, because they can't be at the port before 11AM. Most private shuttles will make a grocery stop along the way, so you can buy water or other refreshments before you board.

At 4 people you're at the break even point in cost going between Disney transport and private shuttle transfer.

We use FLTours for shuttle service. So getting a private van is the same price as Disney (excluding tip), a town car is less expensive and limo a little bit more.

For us we like to take private transport to the port so we can get there early and get a grocery stop. On the way to the airport we like to use Disney since you don't have to coordinate with you transportation, the buses are waiting for you right outside of the building.

Hope that helps.

Cheers!

We have come in the day or 2 before and rented a car. Then returned it to the airport and did the transfers (we were on the first bus to the port). We have also rented a car and then drove and parked it at the terminal. (It was actually cheaper than paying 280.00 for Disney transfers).

Hopefully this will give you a couple more options to look into

When you book the magical express from Port Canaveral to a resort, is it linked to your cruise reservation or resort reservation? We booked he cruise through a travel agent, but are booking the parks portion ourselves.

It is linked to your cruise reservation. And just for the sake of clarity it is not called Magical Express which is a free transportation service provided at WDW. As a previous poster mentioned the transportation to and from the ship has a cost.

If you are staying at/near the airport, the DCL bus from the airport may be fun for your niece & nephew. It is $35 per person one way. We have used a car service from WDW (can't wait for a bus to pick us up). We have always requested that we be picked up at a time that gets us to the port for our 10.30am PAT. They usually pick us up around 9am.
