Transportation options from Grand Californian to LAX

We're staying at the Grand Californian and will need transportation back to LAX on our last day of our vacation. When we arrive, we're renting a car to go to San Diego/Carlsbad area, but the trip ends with a few days at Disneyland, so we won't have our rental car anymore.

What would you recommend? Private shuttle? Disneyland Resort Express? Uber? Lyft? We'll have our son who would need a booster for a private vehicle. I'll probably price out keeping the rental car, but I hate to pay for parking for 3 or 4 days since we won't need it until we leave.

Will you have a booster seat with you already for your rental car?

If so, Uber is my go to for best balance of price and flexibility.

If you need a booster seat, Disneyland Express or hired car service that will provide a seat are your only options.

Yes, we have a bubble bum that works really great for traveling. Can Uber drop off at LAX? I tried a fare estimator on Uber's website from GC to LAX and it was unable to calculate it.

We needed this question answered too. I had read good things about lansky so I booked them. My husbands not as trusting so he called dgc and asked for valet. Valet told him he never heard of them and that when we check in we will get some sort of voucher for a $90 flat rate from either taxi or car service company (don't remember which) to lax. I'm sure someone there heard of lansky but that's what He was told.

Yes, Uber can drop off at LAX

Never personally used them but Lanksky comes highly recommended often from many on this board. I have asked GCH Valet for car service suggestions in the past, and they were pretty worthless (their suggestions that is) so I would not give that much weight in your decision.

The flat rate voucher is for a taxi which is usually on standby at the GCH

We did Uber from DLH and it worked perfectly. I think it ended up being cheaper than the estimator too, if I recall correctly.

We have used Lyft several times from the Grand to LAX. You can contact Lyft the day before and schedule your pickup time, especially if you need a car seat or early pickup. We have requested and had confirmations on 3:45am pickups twice at the Grand. Both times they were on time and great drivers with nice cars. Have a Great trip :cool1:

We love Lansky and already booked with them for our October trip. They are well worth the money.

We have also used Lanskys several time, including once at the Grand? Love Love Love them, they are worth every penny. They arrive in a beautiful, spotless SUV and will be waiting for you at the Hotel entrance. If you go with them, you will have a stress free, door to door service back to LAX.

I went last month---Disneyland Resort Express! We took a taxi there and it was over $100 dollars. Never again :/ But the ride back was quick and efficient on the DRE!

Add me to those who love travelling with Lansky. We have used them several times with no issues. We also have them booked for our October trip.

There are certainly some decent names mentioned in this thread so far - that I've heard good reports about but have not personally used.

But the service that my wife and I used last year was Karmel Shuttle - and we enjoyed their service a great deal. They may not be as cheap as others however. Call to advise them if you need car seats etc - I'm sure they would do their best to accommodate, providing they are aware before the journey itself, to save any embarrassment.
