Any suggestions on how we should get our family of 4 plus luggage from airport in Palm Beach to Miami cruise terminal??? Car service?? Cab?? Uber???? Has anyone ever done this transfer before? We were unable to get a flight into Miami :(

We picked up a car at MCO, stayed at Disney a few days and then drove to MIA and dropped the car off and took the Alamo shuttle to the port.

I would look in to a one day rental from PBI and drop off at MIA. We booked with Alamo and then took the free Alamo shuttle from MIA to the port. Very easy. I booked Alamo through the Costco website. From my research 2 years ago not every car rental company has a shuttle from MIA to the port but Alamo and Enterprise do (same bus).

We found this to be very easy and hassle free. We were coming from WDW but stopped to visit family in Delray Beach for the night (right below West Palm Beach) so headed straight down 95 from Delray to MIA.

We are renting a car from Dollar at West Palm Beach airport and returning it to MIA and taking the shuttle to Port next month for our cruise. One day one way rental was less than $50.

Your most affordable option is to probably rent a car.

Thanks for the info everyone, I was trying to avoid the time it would take to rent a car since we are coming in the morning of our cruise and it is the Wednesday before Thanksgiving so I am sure the airport is going to be a crazy mess. I was hoping to just be able to hop into a car service and zip out of there ASAP. Ugghhh

You certainly could arrange a car service, but it most likely will cost more than the rental car option. It's all up to your comfort zone. I would say, if paying a bit more for the the service you want isn't totally repugnant to you, that's what you should do.

PBI is about 1.5 hours from POM. Traffic can be very heavy on I-95 on a normal day, but now you will be adding in holiday traffic. I would make sure you give yourselves at least 2-2.5 hours of travel time to the port. This website services PBI to POM, but it's very expensive ($172.50 each way) https://www.go-airportshuttle.com/. We have used them a few times to go from our house in Boca Raton to FLL and they are very professional.

ETA - Did you look into flying into Ft. Lauderdale? It's closer to POM than PBI.

Flights were crazy expensive and the cheapest we got was into PBI...we got lucky with the return and will fly home out of Miami. We came so close to canceling the cruise all together simply because the flights were soooooooo expensive!!!! We land at PBI at 10:30am or so, we should have plenty of time to get down to Miami. That is one of the reasons that I didn't want to waste time renting a car, the earlier we are on the road, the better.

I hope your flight doesn't get delayed as you haven't much time from your flight landing to renting a car and then driving to Miami. It will be tight on time.

I know, that is why I think we need to do car service...

I just wanted to give you a little more information about the car rentals at PBI. Although the car rental companies have counters in the terminal, I don't think PBI has any cars that you can walk to from the terminal. You have to take a shuttle to the car rental lots. But, it is a small airport and the car rental lots are not far from the terminal.
