I understand there's some loopholes you have to go through to get to and from places. At Magic Kingdom, you get dropped off at the ticket center, then take a boat or monorail to get to the entrance. If we want to take a mid day pool break (the plan is to stay at Double Tree Disney Springs) say at like 2 pm for an hour, how long from when we leave until we go back to MK? What about the other parks and water parks? Where are we dropped off?

I haven't stayed at any of the Disney Springs hotels recently, but here's the shuttle schedule for reference:

You don't have to make reservations to take the shuttles, they just want you to allow enough transit time to make it to a dining reservation. For instance, if you need to get to Chef Mickey's for a 9:00 AM breakfast reservation, you will want to make sure you're on a bus by 8:00 AM since you'll have to transfer to the resort monorail at the Ticket & Transportation Center. :earboy2:

Oh that's good to know. Thanks. :goodvibes

The other comment I will make is that there is not one bus per park...If I recall correctly, Magic Kingdom & Animal Kingdom share a bus and the Epcot bus also goes to Hollywood Studios. So they can be rather long bus rides.
So, for example you could leave Magic Kingdom, get the monorail/ferry back to the TTC, wait for the bus and still have to go to Animal Kingdom before heading back to Hotel Plaza Blvd. Then the bus will stop at each resort before yours on the route. This could take upwards of an hour. Personally, I don't know if it would be worth it to do a one-hour mid-day break.
