Hi Everyone- we just booked our 2nd cruise (western Caribbean 10/1/26) and I am beyond excited!!

I'm wondering though, what are the best options for transportation from the airport to the cruise terminal? I didn't realize it was quite so long a drive/ride. If we rent a vehicle, can it be returned at the cruise terminal?

Rental car offices are in Port Canaveral. Not at the port. You return the car and take a shuttle from the rental office to the port.

As to what's "best" it sort of depends on how many of you there are.

DCL transfers cost $35 per person, this option is probably the cheapest for 2 or 3 people. 4 people and over, a rental car, or private transportation may be cheaper.

Thank you! I should have mentioned that there are 5 of us. I'm considering the private transportation, or possibly a hotel that provides it.

Thanks again :)

Since January there are 3 rental car companies at the Port! But still a shuttle drive from CT8 (Disney). See map below.

With rental codes (and patience) you can possibly rent a large vehicle one-way for under $100. Private shuttles will cost upwards of $120. Here is more information about Transportation options.

Best for some is not best for others.

Best for us is convenience, not money.
Best for others is money saved, not convenience.

IMHO there is a trade-off between the two.

You have to decide what is Best for you.

Since convenience is Best for us, we use the DCL Bus. IMHO, it doesn't get any easier.

Well said and cannot argue with that!
But since we travel light with minimum luggage, the most convenient for us is sipping champagne in the back of a stretched limousine from the airport to the Port ;))

If you are staying at a Disney resort before and/or after the cruise, are there any other transportation option offered?

I read that the limo services are not always reliable from the airport, has anyone had experience with this? We will be a party of 7:)

Your options are basically the same regardless of whether coming from MCO or WDW:
  • DCL transfers @ $35 per person each way
  • private car service
  • rental car
As mentioned, there are pros and cons of each.

Enjoy your cruise!

Ours picked us up 'sort of' at the airport. We used Happy Limo and the driver was on time and picked us up in the valet area of the MCO Hyatt (where we stayed the night before). We were a party of 11.
