Transportation from Lakeland airport to WDW

Does anyone have any ideas for transportation from the Lakeland airport to the WDW area? The only car rental company at the airport is Hertz and their rates are outrageous. There is a Budget car rental in town, but they are not open the am we leave and do not have a drop box. We would be willing to rent a car near WDW if we could arrange other transportation back and forth to the airport.

Disney offers complimentary transportation between MCO and WDW. You have to make sure most (or all) of your flight savings don't wind up going for ground transportation before booking a flight at alternate airports. Did you book your flight? Price a flight with a "real airline" to MCO.

There is only one major rental agency in the airport. There are relatively few flights. Two flights a day. Hertz has to cover their overhead with fewer customers. No real competition. No reason Hertz has to offer the unprofitable, outrageous low rental rates offered in MCO.

The cost of a car service and/or bus to get to the WDW area, in order to get a cheaper rental car, will probably wipe out most of the car rental savings.

The other car rental is called U-save. IMHO you don't save. Comes out a few dollars cheaper than Hertz. I have a car booked with them in April and a friend of mine has one booked with them in Feb.

Even adding the cost of the car rental to the cost of the tickets, I still come out saving over $1000 than flying into MCO
