Transportation from Disney Resorts to Publix/Winn dixie

Does anyone know of a way to get to Winn/Dixie of Publix from a disney resort. Just wondering in case we need to run back to the grocery store during the week.
I heard you could take a shuttle from the park to the lake buena vista hotel area, get off the last stop and walk, does that sound right ?

Technically the hotel shuttles for DTD guests are "suppose" to be for hotel guests only. They give you a pass for the bus, but since I have never taken the bus I don't know how often they check.

However, you then have to WALK to Goodings which is very expensive and if you buy much it will be a trek back.

My two suggestions are (1) bite the bullet and buy at the hotel shop. They normally have basic food, but it will be more expensive. (2) If you need a lot, or have heavy stuff (ie drinks to buy) take a cab.

Goodings prices aren't much better than the resort hotel stores, so I wouldn't make a special trip there. I think Winn-Dixie is about a mile from Hotel Resorts Blvd, too far to walk with groceries in my opinion. Publix is much farther. There is a gas station with a convenience store across from Downtown Disney that sells cans or bottles of pop (soda), we stopped there one time. I'm not sure if the gas station near Boardwalk sells convenience items. I would just buy in the resort store, it probably isn't worth the trouble for a small difference.
