Transportation from Airport to DTD?

I was just wondering if transportation is provided from the Orlando Airport to Downtown Disney. My mom and I are flying in on Thursday and we are scheduled to get there about 2 hours before check-in, so we decided to go to Downtown Disney, eat lunch and do a little shopping before we check in. We have booked the Magical Express but we weren't sure if we would be able to get to Downtown Disney from the airport. Thanks!

I believe your best bet would be to take ME directly to your resort from the airport, and then take a bus to DTD. I doubt ME will drop you at DTD.

My answer really doesn't apply because you planned to use ME. And yes ME will only drop you off at your resort and does not go to DTD at all.

You can't even get dropped off at another resort that ME does go to.

You can check in at your resort as early as 6:30 am. There's no guarantee that your room will be ready, but you can definitely check in. After that, you can leave your bags with bell services and then head to DTD or a park.

As already noted...no, the bus won't take you to DTD. It will only take you to the resort you are staying at. So....go to your resort, get checked in. Then, if you want to kill some time, head to DTD and eat lunch. But, you may find that you want to just head off to a park.
Your room may, or may not, be ready when you arrive at the resort. But, Bell Services will hold any carryon luggage you may have. Most nonj-DVC resorts seem to do a great job of getting you into your room well before official checkin time.
