We are going on a 7 day cruise and then doing WDW for 4 days after. First, which hotel is the best for the pre-night stay? Also, if we use the towncar service will they take us to the hotel from airport and on the return trip take us to the resort? And then from there back to the hotel? And for all these different locations is the towncar the way to go? We want to get to the port early as this is our kids (8 and 15) first cruise and want them to enjoy the whole process. Thanks for any input!

There are many hotels around the airport, most have a free shuttle from the airport to the hotel. We always stay at the Hyatt, which is actually right inside the airport, no shuttle needed. I would imagine you could take a hotel shuttle to the hotel and then arrange to have the towncar take you from hotel to port on the morning of the cruise. I would think that a towncar could do port-resort and resort-airport after the cruise. You are in effect chartering the car, I don't believe they are on a schedule.

Whenever we fly in the night before the cruise, we book an MCO area hotel on Priceline ($25 to $28, have gotten everything from the LaQuinta to the Renaissance) or Hotwire (typically around $33 for the Amerisuites). We take the free shuttle from the airport to the hotel (the service is pretty good most of the time, although the Fairfield was AWFUL...ironically, we had booked that one with Marriott Points rather than Priceline). Then Happy Limo picks us up in the morning and takes us to the port. It has always run very smoothly!

In January our family went on the Magic and we stayed at the Embassy Suites at the airport which has free airport shuttle service. We just booked a room again there and got it for $69 and that of course includes that cook to order breakfast and 2 hours of free cocktails. Its a nice hotel and sleeps 6 (including the pull out couch which isn't very comfortable).

To get this rate I called the reservation line and just told them I heard about the $69 rate and they found the package that it fell under. We then use Happy Limo (mention the Disney cruise coupon) to get us to and from. We normally get picked up at 10 which gave us plenty of time!

Enjoy your wonderful trip!!

I suggest that wherever you stay the night before that you don't stay at the Econo Lodge in Cocoa Beach. Horrible way to start the trip. Thank goodness that the cruise was so wonderful. We did eat at the Holiday Inn across the street and it seemed nice.

As far as transfers, for the last three years we have used Florida Town Car service and we will not use anything else. JC and the boys have always started all our trips off so pleasantly.
