I see the transportation to and from the two parks has been covered a lot and I have been happily reading all the tips previously posted. From what I can tell renting a mini van for 2 days would likely be our best bet. But I want to be sure.

Does anyone know if any of the transportation companies like Mears offer group discounts? We are group of 8 only 2 are children. Has anyone had experience with transporting this many people? The mears option would cost us $20.00 per person I assume r/t from what I have been reading and the Dreams Unlimited ticket that includes trans. would still cost us more than renting a van for two days instead of only going for one day. Any thoughts? Its going to cost us anyways so I want to be sure I have looked into all group options. The lynux bus system sounds like it would waste to much time. Any other ideas before I book a rental? Thanks!!

Generally Mears does not give a group discount as far as I know.(I could be wrong) What they will do is match the vehicle to the group size. For your group they would prob send a van.
Also, anyother company in the Orlando area, will charge about the same price for the same number of people. Within a few dollars.

Lynx isnt bad if your on a budget, but you will be at there mercy as far as times, and youd have to transfer at least once if not twice. I would stick with Mears as you mentioned, or a rental. My first choice would prob be a rental for a few reasons.

1.You can leave and return at your leisure. Not rush to make a scheduled pickup.
2. Not that hard to get to U/S. Follow the signs off property for I4 East/Orlando, then get in the left lane and stay there. The only left hand exit is one of the U/S exits.
3.You can stop for a snack or dinner or whatever along the way.

Car service? Many/most of the town car companies have vans for larger parties. The rate is per trip, not per person. Plus, it'll likely be cheaper than renting a van, plus you won't have to pay for parking. And it'll definitely take less time out of your vacation day than going to a rental location, completing the paperwork...

Yes that is what I was thinking.. that there had to be a good car service etc that would provide a one rate van etc.. So far the rental comes out much cheaper than $20 pp I have read for Mears.. I have driven to Universal several times and if we planned to rent a car for the week or visit more often I wouldn't think twice about it. Just seems like a rental may be a bit of hassle for one maybe two days of wanting U/S

Thanks for the input! I think I will try harder to find a car service to compare. That is where I started and wasn't having much luck finding quotes without calling them all.
