Can anyone recommend any transport companies to get my fiance and I to Port Canaveral and back from The Crowne Plaza? Neither of us drive and I'm looking for a cheap but decent option.

Thanks

I'm not sure if you'll find anything 'cheap' but you could use a towncar service. There are a ton of them out there that will get you to the port and back again. We are renting a car but I guess that's not an option for you.

Something around the budget of DCL is fine, but DCL transfers only pick up from Disney Resorts or the airport and I will be at neither during that part of my vacation.

I assumed you were flying in the night before and staying at the Crowne Plaza by the airport. Call Mears and see if you can get pricing on cruise transfers. My guess is they'll take you to MCO first.

You're spending $$$ on airfare, hotel and on the cruise. Spend the extra $100 on a towncar company. You won't be saving enough $$ to have to take get on a Mears bus, make multiple stops on the way to MCO and then wait for a cruise bus.

Which Crown Plaza are you staying at?

I'm staying at Crowne Plaza near Universal so I'm looking for easy access to transfers from here.

How are you getting from MCO to your hotel? I'd send Mears an email and see what they can do for you. The cheapest may be to take Mears to MCO and then take the DCL bus. That will still cost you around $180 R/T. I'd spend the extra money for a towncar, you'll probably save a few dollars if you use the same company to go from MCO to your resort.

I'm actually staying onsite at Disney prior to arriving at The Crowne Plaza. On Thursday 30th we are leaving AKL to check into The Crowne Plaza then our intentions are to go to Port Canaveral from there, then obviously get a return transfer back to The Crowne Plaza when the cruise ends.

The price average price for car services from the Crown Plaza on University Blvd. would be about $250.00 to $280.00 to the Port r/t back to the Crown Plaza. Of course that would be direct and you would be looking at about one hour and twenty minutes each way. Mears may have a shuttle price to the airport and I don't know if you can take the Disney without paying for it ahead of time.

When we did our Disney cruise awhile back, we had the hotel take us back to the airport in the morning (it was not a Disney hotel) and then picked up the DCL bus (we hadn't arranged it in advance - they let us pay when we got there). I'm guessing that's going to be your easiest option?
