Hi there. Just wondering if anyone knows the most cost effective way for RT transport from airport to WDW after this December When ME ends?

TIA
Dee

Mears Connect! You enter your resort and flight details and it’s a bus to your resort.
I can’t believe how much useful information I get from these boards time and time again!!!!! Thank you so much! I just booked a resort only trip for myself and my cousins for March. Girl time! So I am researching options now that ME is no longer. We’ll probably have to rent a car anyway because of where we are staying on property but this is good to know in case!!!

So, hypothetically, for a family of 3 the airport to a Disney resort hotel the round trip price for Mears bus would be $192.00, plus tax. The average price for a local limo company, same passengers same route seems to be $180.00, plus tip.
Am I missing something in my math?

Do they provide car seats for the babies? If so is it an extra cost?

Thanks. Not so easy with three little ones. We’ll probably have to rent a car

Whether you get a motor coach (no car seats needed), shuttle van or small vehicle might depend on what time of day you're traveling. During busy hours (daytime into evening) when there are lots of passengers, it will probably be a motor coach. Late night or very early morning is when you'd probably see the smaller vehicles being used.

Do we have any idea how many stops we're looking at for this...on average of course.

If it's like the Disneyland Express; it often takes FOREVER unless you're at one of the first few stops...we're talking 7, 8, stops sometimes.

Just interested to see if it'd even be something we'd consider.

Not sure any of us can even guess at that until the service starts. Mears runs some current services but the volume is likely to be higher once DME ends. All of those who used to travel via DME will have to make other arrangements and Mears will be one of those choices. How many choose Mears vs renting a car, online taxi or other car service won't become clear until after January 1.

Mears runs DME. I’ve heard it from the horse’s mouth that it will essentially be the same service without the Disney name.

Also ME didn’t include non Disney resort hotels (i.e. Swolphin, Shades of Green, Four Seasons). Mears Connect does include those hotels. More hotels offered, more potential stops. We’ll have to wait until January to see how many stops could happen for each trip.

I guess I don't understand the carseat thing. I need to wait until it literally shows up to see if I need carseats? If it's a bus, we don't need them. If it's a car or van, we do. There is no way to guarantee this? It's the difference of bringing two carseats on the plane and storing in the room for a week, which is a lot of extra work if I don't need them.

Mears will have to make the rule on car seats. If Mears publishes that you need car seats just in case they send a small vehicle, then that is what it will be.

Also, if there might be 8 or 9 stops then reservations back to the airport just 3 hours before your flight will not work..
