Any tips for quality transfers from Fort Lauderdale Airport to Port of Miami.
We will be traveling with 4 adults, 2 children and an infant

We left port Miami today on SAS going to FLL. I have read bad reviews but we had excellent service. Nice Mercedes Sprinter van. He was on time. He was friendly and helpful. I will book with them again.

We also used SAS from the Port to FLL. It worked well, with good service and affordable pricing. I would use them again.

We used SAS last time and in one direction (FLL -> POM) I was very pleased and in the other direction (POM->FLL) I couldn't have been more unhappy. The driver was reckless. He was speeding and weaving through lanes very aggressively. It was extremely unnerving. This time around, I was planning to use FG Car Service (in fact I have a reservation) but I just figured out that for 5 people, it's actually cheaper for us to rent a van through Avis picking up at FLL and dropping off at the downtown Avis and using their shuttle. Same for the way back. Van rental for us is $70 there and $50 back for a 7 passenger van. The shuttle for the 5 of us was going to be $160 round trip, which was actually the cheapest I found.

Hopefully the Avis thing works out!

I have a tentative reservation with MJS Transportation. Rates seem to be the same. Amyone have feedback for them?

Would anyone like to share how much their ride was with any of the aforementioned? We'll have 2 adults, 3 kids, FLL to Port of Miami . Using this to judge whether we should fly to MIA or FLL, air differs quite a bit for us.

We use Jiffy Jeff's. Normally picked up at our hotel taken to Port of MIA and then to FLL after cruise. Great drivers and equipment and always on time. Last trip we mentioned our daughter was coming in late because she had school and would jump a cab to the hotel, he told us he would take care of it and had a driver meet her and bring her to the hotel, same as cab fare.

Jiffy Jeff and SAS are very similar. Easiest way to do it, just remember your terminal or hotel may not be the first one to get dropped off.

Jason, we used MJS a few years ago and loved them. Super nice guy, clean Mercedes van, they even had purchased a brand new car seat for my granddaughter, even though FL doesn't require them for taxi type services, because they knew my daughter was concerned about her not being in a seat. Price was very reasonable as well. We haven't cruised out of Miami since, but if we did we'd use MJS again.

We will be using FG in a few weeks. We have the same amount of adults, kids and an infant. We went with them because they provide carseats.

I would NOT rent a car with Avis. We flew into FLL a day before cruising so rented a car to have. We took the rental from the airport at 9 am and dropped it off at the port the next morning. They charged us for 2 full day rental because we technically had the car to 26 hours. The thing the frustrated me the most was when we arrived at the rental depot there was a huge line of people waiting for cars. I guarantee they had another renter in the car we dropped off within 15 minutes. They made double the fees by overcharging me. We learned our lesson not to ever rent with Avis.

Thanks for the heads up. We get in fairly late (3 PM) the day before and since we'll be dropping off around 9, I don't think they'll have a leg to stand on to charge us extra. Unfortunately, I have had that happen at other car rental companies. The minute you're over 24 hours, it's a whole additional day.

Like others above, my family had a great experience with SAS Transportation. I would definitely recommend them.

If you'd like a car service, we used Driven Miami earlier this month from the Port back to FLL. Wonderful driver and service. Online booking was very easy.

Welcome to South Florida. Worst drivers I have ever seen in my life. I am from MA and thought Boston traffic was a headache until I moved here.

That's normal for any car rental agency, IME. They rent to you on a 24 hour clock.

Linda Webb.. My husband worked in the car rental industry for over 20 years. Sorry about your frustrations, but anytime you rent from an airport location, you are always charged more. The airport itself requires additional taxes to be paid. Rental car agencies will also charge more for a one way rental and the do not charge based on a 24 hour period of when you picked up the car. That changed a long time ago. now it's based on per day, not hours. so If I rent a car at 11:59 pm on Monday and return it noon on Wednesday, they are going to charge me for three days. I don't think it's fair, but that's the game they play....
