I hope that somebody here knows the answer to this. We will do a cruise on the Disney Magic out of Miami, but will fly into and out of Orlando as there are are no flights to Miami from our home airport. We will do a one-way car rental to get back to Orlando and we will spend the last night at Beach Club. Unfortunately the hours of the Alamo office at the Dolphin are quite limited so we have to drop off the car at the Disney Car Care Centre. Is there any kind of transportation from the Disney Car Care Centre to the resorts or even to the parks were we could then pick up the Disney transportation?

First off, you can drop off late at the Dolphin. You basically just leave your keys with the valets.

The Car Care Center has a shuttle that will take you back to your resort, if you drop off the car when the center is open. They also have late drop-off, but there is no shuttle when you drop off late, so you'd have to take a cab back to your resort.

Ultimately, if you're at the Beach Club, your best bet is to drop it off at the Dolphin and walk back.

Thanks. That may need a call to Alamo. It did not let us book to return to the Dolphin as the drop off time is after there official closing time.

Huh, that's funny. I just tried to book a car at the Dolphin and return it after hours, and it just says that they'll be closed, but they have after-hours drop-off. It says "lock all doors and leave keys in drop box". I wonder if being in the UK makes a difference. Or maybe because it's one-way.

You might try calling the location directly. Except of course that I can't find the phone number. You could try calling the Dolphin switchboard and asking them to connect you to the Alamo desk during their normal open hours. 407-934-4000.

Thanks, I will try that. That would be perfect if this worked. DH could drop me and the luggage off at the hotel, I could check us in while he drops the car off and by the time that is done, he should be back.

If you drop off your car after hours, your return time (for billing purposes) will be the following morning. Just specify the opening time that morning (or even 30 minutes after opening, as the return time on your reservation.

Because rental car billing is based on 24-hour increments, not on calendar days, the cost will be the same as long as you return the car before the time of day that you rented it in Miami.

The other alternative is to keep your car overnight. Parking is free for Beach Club guests. You would then have the option of using the car to drive to dinner that evening or to breakfast the next morning, without paying more than if you had returned the car right when you checked in at the Beach Club.

The phone number is on the Alamo site. It is the same for all the Orlando sites. Phone: (888)826-6893

Thanks again. We have a dinner ADR at Yachtsman Steakhouse and breakfast at Cape May Cafe so definitely do not need the car. I will give them a call to check if we can still drop the car off at the valet with a one-way rental.

Actually, at the WDW Dolphin, you would always return your rental car at valet parking, regardless of whether it's a one-way rental or a single-location rental, and regardless of whether the Alamo/National counter off the lobby is open or closed. There is no dedicated rental car return lane or lot at the WDW Dolphin.

Tell the valet parking attendant that you're returning a rental car. You'll get a slip noting your return, your final mileage, and your gasoline level. You'll be sent a receipt through email when the car is officially checked into the system (which would be the next morning if it's after hours). If the Alamo/National counter is open, you can go in if you wish, but it's not necessary.

Thanks again. You and the other people on here have been so helpful. Normally we do not hire a car when we are in Florida and a one-way rental is a new experience for us, too. Now I feel prepared to get this all booked.
