:tigger: Hi all,

I'm hoping someone can help, I'd be very grateful.

My mum has asked me to look into the costs/practicalities of a 50th Birthday weekend trip to DLP sometime between August and October for 6 people. We've never been before. I'm fairly confident about being able to find a decent deal, though this will be done on a minimum budget.

One thing worries me though, and that is the practicalities of getting Mum to and from DLP. She's wheelchair bound, and while she can transfer, she can't walk more than about three steps on flat ground.
I also don't think we'll be able to afford an on-site stay, which means an offsite hotel.:charac2:

Mum's quite a large lady, and we wouldn't get very far pushing her in a manual chair (possible for short distances), as I'm simply not strong enough.
She has a powered chair, and an adapted vehicle so she can drive, but we live in the north west of England, so it would be a very long drive, and I don't think she's so keen on that, but would be a possibility if it was our only affordable option.
We could take the train, as she can travel on those fine with her own chair, though this could get expensive, and I'm not sure what the public transport options and accessibility would be like on the other end.
Flying would also be an option, but she's not flown since she's been in a chair, so none of us are quite sure what this would entail.

I guess I'm asking if anyone has had any experience of the accessibility options, and what would work best? Also whether there are any tips of areas to avoid, things to especially be aware of etc?

She's very conscious of causing issues and has even volunteered to stay behind, though I know this would crush her. She's never been to Disney and hates the idea that her chair might hold her back. I really want to take her. She could really do with the magic.:tinker:
Any help/advise would be massively appreciated.

Thanks :thanks:

You could look at hotel santa fe disabled room which sleeps 7, this are bassically 2 rooms 1 normal ( sleeps $ 2 doubles) and 1 adapted room ( 1 single and 1 bunk bed) with roll in shower.
You have the option to book for all six depending on he price or book for 1 or 2 people and add the rest of the people at check in for tax about €1 per night pp and buy them seperate tickets, i don't know what is cheaper.

I am not familiar with offsite hotels which has adapted rooms so i can't help you with that.

There are a few rides in the park the she can stay in the wheelchair for the ride most of them she needs to transfer.
If you read this guide i think you get most of the answers you need:
https://brochure.disneylandparis.com/HCP/UK/catalogue/index.html

I only traveled with a normal wheelchair or scooter, with a scooter you have acces to 95% off the park.

I would travel in september which is a quieter and cheaper time of the year.

If you take the train, Eurostar goes direct to Disneyland Paris. The station is literally at the entrance to the resort. A bus station is right outside where you can take the free shuttle bus to your on-site hotel - some of the partner off-site hotels have shuttle busses too.

If you fly I think the easiest transfer option would be a private shuttle company. As there are 6 of you this will probably work out cheaper than using the bus or TGV. Ezyshuttle have always been very reliable when I've used them and last time cost was 70E each way for us all.

Thank you both.

I've found the DLP accessibility guide on their website which tells me about the options in the parks which should help with that side of things.
I'll have a look and price up the various hotel and travel options and sit and have a chat with her. We'll see what she wants to do.
Thanks

For the Santa fe disabled room you need to call this is not on the website
