transporation at Port Canaveral

We'll be taking a cruise in May and will need a car after we get off the ship. We don't need to go directly to the airport since our flight doesn't leave until early evening.

Anyway, my question is this, do any of you experienced cruisers know of a rental car company that has a shuttle from the port? Anyone ever 'cabbed' it to a pick up station? Any help is appreciated. TIA

Avis has a shuttle that runs between the port and their office at the Radisson Hotel. A few of the other car companies will also credit you up to a certain amount for the cab fare.

I rented a car & used the free shuttle from the Port to Budget. It was easy & not too many people used Budget. A ton of people used Avis, but they run 2 shuttles & the line moves quick. National does not have a shuttle, but if you use a certain cab company, they will pay your cab fare to thier rental office. I saw one family trying this, but they did not want to wait for that particular cab company so they took a cab on thier own. I'm sure you can get a great deal with either Avis or Budget. I would stick with those two as they are well organized at the port.
