I'm staying in a cabin and have a dinner ADR at WCC. How would experienced campers suggest I manage transporting my family between the two?

I plan on having a golf cart, but I believe I've read that the golf carts can't go between the two. Would I be able to drive my golf cart to the trail, park it, and then walk to WL? I can't count on bikes being available. Can I reserve a set for my family of 6? (Yes, I plan on cramming all six of us on the golf cart. It works at home. Not sure how I'll get the stroller onboard, however.)

It's a nice walk from the Fort to the Lodge, about a mile. You are correct, the path is for pedestrians and bikes only and you can park your cart across from the Settlement bus stop and walk.

It's easy walking, all level and paved.

Keep an eye out for deer and other critters!

You can take a bus to the settlement bus stop then hop another bus to WL. When we were there in Jan the yellow bus route continued on to WL.

Another question . . . our dinner might not end until after dark. Is the trail lit? Would it be uncomfortable to travel in the dark?

The bus that goes between the hotels . . . is it the internal bus, or the bus that goes out to the parking lot? (That's the difference between the two, isn't it?)

Can I jump in with a (related) question of my own?

In addition to the "well lit" question...

If you ride your bike down the trail (instead of walk) is there a place to park it while you explore WL?

The trail to the Wilderness Lodge is not lit and is very dark at night. You could walk over and then take the bus or the boat back. The bus is from the Settlement bus stop not the Outpost where you get buses to the parks.

I vote for taking the boat - very relaxing and the best choice for all of you plus gear. We do get to vote right?

We were there in February. I stopped one of the park 'rangers' (no idea what their actual title is) and she told me I could take the golf cart on the trail over to WL.

If u take the boat after three it goes to contemporary first then the lodge. If u are in a hurry I would take the bus over to the lodge and the boat back. But the boat is a peaceful ride. We always try and catch the boat around 230 because it goes straight there. But for some unknown reason at 3 it switches direction. Which then on our way back goes straight to the fort. But the trail about an hour before sundown is loaded with deer. Saw about 30 on a bike ride this weekend

You can take a boat or a bus. Unless a long standing policy has recently changed, the only golf carts permitted on that trail are the ones driven by Disney Cast members who are doing work on or around the trail area and I rarely see them there at all. There are a lot of joggers, walkers, and bicycle riders of all ages. The path is not lit. If you plan to use it after dark, bring a flashlight or enjoy the "moonlight". It's a very pleasant path for travel.
