I want some Fish and Chips…and a taco…and some Schoolbread…
That can only mean one thing…We’re going to Epcot!
We woke up around 9:30 and it was going to be a nice day...much warmer than yesterday.
First stop was Spaceship Earth. This would be the first time that we have done this together, since the ride was closed for rehab last year. The line was pretty short and moved quickly. We enjoyed Spaceship Earth and especially loved the “personal postcards”. Those were a hoot!
We then headed over to Test Track, only to find it was down for repairs. We did grab some FastPasses as they said they would honor them all day long due to the repairs once they opened (Truth be told, we never made it back to Test Track this day. We knew we would return to Epcot later in the week).
We headed over to The Land, stopping off for some glasses of Coke along the way. I loved the Fanta, and hubby loved the Ginger Ale and the Beverly (said it tasted like strong Tonic Water). The Land was pretty crowded. First we went to Soarin’ but FastPasses were not valid until 6 PM, and we’d be at the World Showcase by then, so we decided to come back later in the week. We went on the ride through the greenhouse and gardens, which was great!
We decided to get some lunch at Sunshine Seasons. I had the tomato and cucumber salad, the turkey and Muenster cheese sandwich and the Asian chocolate cake. Hubby had the tabouleh salad, the same sandwich and the strawberry shortcake. The lady at the dessert counter saw our “just married” buttons and also gave us two free cookies!!!! How Sweet! The food here is GREAT; probably one of the best counter-service meals anywhere at WDW. The food is very fresh and they have a great selection! This has become a regular lunch spot for us when we go to Epcot; we love it!
After lunch we figured it was time to do some exercise so we headed over to World Showcase! We absolutely love World Showcase. We can spend hours simply exploring each world. Today was especially cool because each world had a special Christmas exhibit explaining their country’s “Christmas Story and Santa Claus traditions”. We heard some great stories and also got some great pictures.
We spent all afternoon exploring World Showcase, seeing the different movies and attractions and listening to some great entertainment.
We planned our day so we would end our journey in Italy, in time for our ADR at Tutto Italia. This would be our first time here, so we were VERY EXCITED! There was a long line outside, and the host kept telling people that he has no idea when or if they would ever be seated without an ADR. We walked up, gave him our name, and were seated immediately! The restaurant was very nice and quite fancy (definitely not an Olive Garden or Macaroni Grill) We both had Cesar Salads. I had the lasagna and hubby had some type of pasta with Italian sausage. They were both very good, but hubby was definitely eyeing my lasagna. My portion was HUGE…hubby’s…not so much. No worries, I’ll share! For dessert, I had a cannoli and hubby had cream puffs filled with vanilla gelato and covered with fudge sauce. The desserts were INCREDIBLE!
We were so full from dinner that we were glad we had a long walk out of the park as we needed more exercise. We were also quite disappointed to realize that since we both ate so much, neither of us would be able to eat any schoolbread. This is also becoming a bit of a tradition. During our planning process, we both promise that we will save room for schoolbread. To date, we have YET to ever try schoolbread. Oh well, there’s always our next trip in June!
We slowly made our way out of the park, enjoying the lights of Epcot.
Up next…”What do you mean, we have to leave the parks”???
