Transformers: The movie (man I'm a nerd!)

So we went to se Pirates last night and imagine my shock, surprise and delight to see the teaser trailer for TRANSFORMERS (the live action version). Oh...My...GOD! I remember the animated film back in the late 80's (which was fairly good as far as late 80's animated fair goes). I was a habitual watcher of the tv show and my cousins and I would spend hours playing with the action figures. Sad for a girl....sad for anyone really I suppose!

I turned to DH and squeeled with delight but he looked at me like I had lobsters crawling out of my ears. Come on! Don't you remember Optimus Prime, Megatron, Soundwave, Bumblebee... The AutoBots vs. the Decepticons?? Dinobots...Constructicons???? Nothing?????????

It was hysterical. FYI my 33 year old sister was just as delighted as I was. Movie comes out Next July, no idea who is in it but it's directed by (barf) Michael Bay. So who else is exited about it?

Transformers...more than meets the eye... (HAAAAAAAAAHAHAHAHAHAHAH!!!)

My fiancee and I are both in our early 30's and thought this looked like it could be a cool movie. Of course, then she brought up the Gobots, which I proceeded to explain to her were LAME compared to the Transformers.

MY Dh was telling me that he had Gobots and not Transformers. I rolled my eyes and told him those were totally LAME. Unfortuntaley his Mom was with us at the movie and she said "But I bought those for him!" rather indignantly. I told her "sorry...but Gobots were the lame ones. Cool kids had Transformers".

So what's next...THUNDERCATS: The movie? How about VOLTRON?? I had both toys BTW.

My son and his frat brothers already have the calendar date marked and plan on being at the first show. They wear t-shirts that say "Go Geek" (a play on the Go Greek so many other frats use) so yep, you're a nerd

Seriously though, my head is crammed full of useless pop culture stuff like this. I can name most of the Transformers, but I can't change a tire or tell you how to do square roots. I remember spednign HOURS on the livingroom floor with my cousins staging MASSIVE Transformer wars.

OK so I know what Transformers are... and will admit to watching the cartoons. But what a lame idea for a movie Guess I'll have to see the previews to see if it grows on me ....or not.
