Transferring points

I have a member who is interested in renting points. Could you please advise how this is done. I am using PayPal How do I transfer them

Renting and transferring are two different things. Transfers happen when you move points from your membership to another owners membership. It can only happen between DVC owners.

You have to do a three way call with MS to accomplish it-and be sure not to mention payment as it is not allowed.

I require payment in full for transfers before I will do it. Other owners have different rules for payment. It is really up to you as the owner transferring the .

Renting is when you make the reservation for someone else and it stays in your membership. This can be done for anyone. In this case, you make it and decide how you want to arrange payment.

When renting, I ask for payment in 48 hours after I send the reservation number.

I was wondering about that payment part..... I saw something that mentioned compensation.... So, it's ok with Disney for owners to rent their points for money but not get paid for points that they transfer to another owner? Am I understanding that right?

Yes, that's how the rule books reads. If you rent, you must use a contract!

I think the reason is because when you rent, you rent someone a reservation made with your points…something tangible. Plus, it’s a private transaction between owner and renter and does not involve DVC in anyway.

Transfers between owners does and DVC doesn’t want to be in the middle of it…plus, points are technically not of value but a way of representing your ownership.
