Okay, I have read a lot of threads here on this and have a few questions. I am trying to plan a trip for June of 2019.This trip will need 413 points. I am using a contract( let's call this one master) that has a Feb uy. I plan on using the 200 points from the 2019 year and some of my 2020 year points towards my total. I also have a secondary contract with 50 points that belongs to my parents. It has points for 2017,2018 and 2019 all with an August UY. I have read that I can only transfer current points and then bank them once transferred. Is this correct? Also, do they retain their UY? Ultimately, I would love to use 2017 and 2018 points from the little contract. If I transfer the 2017 points, which UY will I be transferring them to? Same question for the 2018 points? I read that you can only transfer once per UY so this is why I am trying to figure this out now. My head is spinning and just when I think that I have this trip squared away in my mind, I read a post that questions my thinking....lol. Thank you in advance!

Points transferred in retain their original home resort & UY and they can be banked. Since transferred points retain their original UY: 2017 points will transfer as 2017 points, 2018 points will transfer as 2018 points, etc.

So the 8/17 points will be transferred to the master then I may bank them and they will be good until 7/31/2019? I would then transfer the 2018 50 points for a total of 100 points that will have to be used by 7/31/2019. Does that seem correct?

it might be easier for everyone if you can list all of your parameters at once so we can tell you how best to achieve your goal.

for instance:

"Contract 1 -- SSR-400-FEB (200 in 2017 and 400 in 2018)
Contract 2 -- AKV-50-AUG (50 in 2017, 50 in 2018)
Booking a 2BR villa at BCV for one week in june for 413 points"

Also -- I'm assuming the master and secondary contracts are under completely different membership accounts?

One other consideration if you want to use 100 points from your parents' contract is to just book the reservation using their account and transfer some of your points into theirs. You could also book a few days with their points and then buy some OTU points from disney to make up the few points needed for one night, and then book the remaining days using your own points. But again, it's hard for me to suggest a best way to accomplish your goal without knowing all of the parameters.

*Anyone should feel free to correct me if any of what I’m saying is incorrect*
Any of the 2017 uy points will not be able to be used for a June 2019 trip. They will have expired in August 2018. So you would have 2018, 2019, and 2020 points to use from both contracts. I hope this helped in some way

Transferred points can be banked. Therefore, transferred 2017 UY points can be banked into the 2018 UY. The points retain the UY month (in the OP's example, it would be AUG). So, it would be possible to transfer the AUG 2017 points to the master contract and then bank them into the AUG 2018 UY in order to use them for a trip in June 2019. The banked points would expire on Aug. 1, 2019.

This is certainly possible but it would be easier to transfer the points from your contract into your parents' account and then they (or you, if you're an affiliate member on their account) can bank and/or borrow the necessary points in their account to make the reservation, using the transferred points to make up the difference. This is easier to keep track of than transfer/bank and transfer again. You would transfer once and not need to do any banking.

Master contract- Feb UY 200 points available from 2019 on
BWV contract August UY 50 points available from 2017 on
Trip will be June 2019 and need 413-487 points depending on view. Both contracts above are different membership numbers. I was trying to have one reservation number for Aulani so that we did not have to maybe have to change rooms. Room view will depend on what we can get at 7 months. We need a 2 bedroom. Thank you for your help. I am seriously over thinking this.

Just want to make sure there is not a typo -- in your original post you said the master contract had 200 points for 2018 year -- but in this post you said 2019 and on.

I apologize it is 2019 when I have full points. I will amend the original post. Thank you!

Okay. Given that info, it looks like you will need:
50 points AUG 2017 UY BWV transferred to the Master Contract and then banked into 2018.
All 2019 Master Contract points
50 points AUG 2018 UY transferred to the Master Contract.
113-187 points borrowed from Feb 2020 UY from the Master Contract.

:thumbsup2
this is definitely the most straightforward way to do it.

Thank you to everyone who helped me straighten this out. I really appreciate it and feel much more prepared to handle this vacation planning!
