If I have 2008 points with a June UY transferred into my account, which has an Oct UY, I know they count in my 2008 UY. But, if I bank then to 2009, can I use them in July 2009 for a trip--even though my 2009 UY does not start until Oct 2009--since I have to follow the transferor's UY (June), home resort and expiration dates, this seems like the case--but I have never dealt with banking a transfer. thanks, Elaine

We transfered in points about a month ago. The transfered in points are put in what the MS person refered to as a Virtual Contract. This virtual contract maintains the same UY and home resort as it did before it was transfered. I was told I could bank the points but did not have to. The points are not transfered into your existing contract. They sit out in their own virtual contract and do not even show up on the DVC website. MS can see them on their computer but we can not see them on the DVC website.

I believe the section of software that deals with reservations using developer points is probably what they're using for transferred points, or at least similar. Thus the 'virtual' points is similar to 'developer' points in how they are handled.

Before they made these changes to the software, transferred points would 'morph' into your own contract's use year and home resort. This problem was 'fixed' some time ago.
