transfer: too short time period to wash before wear to party

I made a shirt for my daughter's b'day party tomorrow. It was my first time to use a transfer paper (Transfer Magic for dark colors), and I did not realize it needed a 24 hour time period before you could wash it. And of course it needs to be washed before worn. So to all of you who have done this many times, can I get by without washing? Or washing it after 12-14 hours? Or am I making an emergency shopping trip tomorrow?

I do not know anything about that brand of transfer paper but...

Did it require that you wash the shirt before applying the transfer. Most state in their directions to wash before. If you washed the shirt already, there is no harm in wearing the shirt before washing again.

I would say that my opinion would be there would be no harm in washing it early or not washing it at all. But again, I am not familiar with that brand or their directions. Could you maybe call the company?

I did wash the shirt according to instructions before applying the transfer. I think I may just take my chances let her wear as is and take a back up shirt just in case. Thanks for helping a stressed mom out!

I never washed the shirt again between applying transfers and wearing...

I only wash my shirts once without fabric softner and then apply transfers and wear the shirts.. Good luck

Just to update everyone so you won't make the same mistake I did, the transfer colors bled. Luckily my daughter was cute as a button during her party! But on the way home spilled water on herself and that was the end of the shirt. So glad this happened to her birthday shirt before I started making the shirts for our trip! I have heard so many good things about Amy's transfer paper, I am going to order it before I make any more shirts.

Amy's transfers are 'da bomb'~! I've never used anything but her transfers for making shirts. You can spill, splooge, douse, drip and anything else you can think of to make them wet and I've never had any of them run. I've been using these transfers for 3 years now and my first shirts I've done still look just as new as the one's I've just made. Believe me, you can't go wrong with the transfers Amy uses...
