Ok looking for a solution to my ongoing SSR 320 contract signed 1/9. Waiting for Deed from seller and still waiting 3 weeks after wiring $$ 3/4/13.

I have non refundable tickets to fly in 6/12/13-6/19/13 Don't want to risk not getting a 2 bedroom much longer.

So my SIL also has 320 pts. She can make a reservation in our name and borrow points to cover it. Then when my points finally come in if there is a 2 bedroom still available I can use my points and she can cancel hers. Would the points go back into the year she is borrowing from?

Now if I had to use her points I assume I could replace her points with a transfer. I understand the one per year per member part. Not sure what her UY is but I would think she has to use my UY. What about her ability to bank those transferred points or would she have to use them in a calender year of transfer or within my UY.

Don't want to ask a favor of SIL unless I know I can make her whole again after all is said and done.

Other option is renting pts now and then renting ours later. Looks like a $2 spread on Davids. I have never rented out points before so not sure what to expect if I did it myself, I could rent from another member and then rent mine at same cost just the unknown and perceived hassle.

Thanks for any advice!

No, her points would remain in the current Use Year and would need to be used by the end of this Use Year. They cannot be returned to their original Use Year or banked.

Yes, you would be able to transfer points to her account. The transfer would from your 2013 Use Year into her 2013 Use Year (or 2012, or 2014 depending on which works best).

Transferred points may be banked into the following Use Year and will retain their original Home Resort status as well as Use month.

This would also be a worthwhile option even if you lose a few $$ in the process between your rental cost and what you are able to get from a rental yourself.

Good luck! :)

This is looking like the best option as I really don't want to inconvenience SIL and make my headache hers. Any idea how close I can cut it with staying at SSR or OKW 6/12 thru 6/19/13 in a 2 bedroom? I am trying to sweat it out until 2 months but worry creeps in now and then.

Is it a hassle to rent out points? We have rented in the past and it was pretty easy just an initial leap of faith in sending $$$ based on a emailed confirmation. It all worked so not really afraid of getting ripped off 315 pts thru Davids would cost $630 at current spread.
