I'm new to the whole shirt making process. I want to buy your transfers because several people on this board have said they're the best. As I understand it, the dark transfers print all clear spaces white. Do I have to trim around each individual letter to avoid this? We're applying these to colored shirts and wanted to make sure these would work before ordering.

For a name design you have a few choices. You can cut around each letter as you stated, you could put a border around the design, so it looks a little nicer or even color the background to the color of the shirt or any general color so at least it won't just be white.

I hope this answers your question. If you have any additional questions, do not hesitate to ask.

Ok, thank you.

You are welcome - I use these transfers for both white and colored shirts. Dark transfers are more of a matte finish (the light ones are shiny) and the colors seem much more vibrant. You also do not need to flip/rotate design before printing. If you have any additional questions, do not hesitate to ask!

If you use light transfers on a colored shirt, then ALL white areas of the design will be clear or the shirt color. So if you are putting anything with white in it or a colored shirt and you want the white to be white - you need to use dark transfers. If you are putting the design on a white tshirt, you can use either light or dark transfers. I hope this all makes sense.

Amy, just did my first shirt with your transfers. It came out great, Can't wait to wear them. The frist shirts I ever did was for our last cruise in Nov 07- just bought them at our local hobby lobby, they were stiff on the shirt and cracked after the first couple washes. Your transfers are soft and so easy to peal off and trim, can't wait to see how they come out of the wash.

I see lots of shirts in my future and another order soon.

I am so glad you are loving them and that I could share them with you!

I'm new to all of this but can't wait to jump in. Where do I order these transfers????

Thanks for pointing me in the right direction! I have seen a lot of discussion on here about light vs dark transfer paper. Can you tell me what that is? And, from your website it looks like I can use your dark transfer paper for any color shirt, is that right? If so, would there be any reason I would need light transfer paper?

Thanks for the education!:goodvibes

A light transfer has a clear background and a shiny appearance. The dark transfers have a white background and a matte finish. I use dark transfers for all my shirts including white. I think the colors in a dark transfer are more vibrant, I like the matte finish look better and no need to flip/rotate the design before printing. The only thing you need to keep in mind with dark transfers is that if you do not want excess white (border) than it does require trimming. It is well worth it, in my opinion, for how nice they look on the shirt.
