Transfer Problem!! Help!

When I print my image out onto the transfer paper, I notice that there is a blueish/pinking discoloration surrounding the entire edging of the words Merry Christmas(which is red). So I am left with the words merry christmas in red, but this blue/pink coloring that is surrounding each letter and the entire phrase. It doesn't appear that way on words, but when I print it out it has it there, and then of course when I tried transfering it onto the t-shirt, it transferred on. Sounds like maybe something my printer is doing? Should I try changing all of the ink cartridges, is it possible that because one of them is low this might happen?

Has anyone had this same problem, or know what the cause might be???
