Transfer paper printing questions

Hi all - You are all so talented I figured I check with the experts. Has anyone use transfer paper from BJ's before? We are going on a family cruise with our best friends and their kids. My Mom and Sis are also coming along. We want to make T-shirts with our group logo on them. Do you use regular ink cartridges to print out the transfers? And how do you know how to get them to print right so that the words will be on the correct side so you can read them?
Is there anything else I need to do?

Sorry for the stupid questions........I'm a newbie at this!
