Hey..
Transferring your booking to CAA is easy, but you have
to do it in person. I presume you have booked with CAA before and you know your agent at least a little bit - that helps.
Anyway - take a printed copy of your confirmed reservation number and the Disney reservation details that Disney has sent to you (via email I wil assume - doesn't matter as long as it is all the documentation) and give them to your CAA agent. Most ( not all) CAA agencies now have one agent that has taken the Disney training course.
The CAA agent will then print off a written disclosure of information and transfer of proxy form for you to sign.
They will then send it off to Disney ( via mail) and then they take ownership of your travel portfolio - when it is returned
Now - here is the catch - and it is not a big one - you CANNOT no longer phone Disney yourself to add extra codes or change the actual reservation details - you no longer own the trip CAA does. That is not as big a deal as it seems. Just keep looking for any applicable codes etc, then phone you CAA agent and have them phone Disney to apply them - just one extra step that is all.
MY STRONG advice is however to have EVERYTHING completed as much as you can to your complete satisfaction before you hand it over to CAA - not that they are incompetant - hardly - they are one of the best TA's in Canada - it is just that you are just one of the customers. So if there is a timed code( not very likely) or a personal code you have been sent directly you cannot use it .
Now, before you ask that does not apply in any way to ADR's they are still yours- you can get the CAA TA to make them , but it is unecessary.
I have done this many times in the past - basically they really like it - you do all the leg work, get the codes, the dates, the resort - fix it your name, then they take over and get the kickback from Disney you can't get..but you still get whay you want PLUS all the CAA/
AAA extras like preferrred parking etc..
If you get any grief from you CAA
travel agent about this - phone the CAA head office and they will confirm...
BTW before I forget - you must have made the $200 deposit in your name first and basically bought the booking or all this doen not apply.
